FAQ

What to settle before you subscribe.

Does ORBIT only cover cyber incidents and crises?

No. SHIELD and PILOT are multi-risk and multi-domain. ORBIT can support an organisation through sensitive situations, incidents or crises of very different kinds: natural, technological, human, societal, reputational or logistical. Cyber simply keeps specialised investigation capabilities inside SHIELD.

What is the difference between a report and an incident in SHIELD?

A report starts from a doubt: the person raising it does not need to know whether it really is an incident. The team in charge reviews the situation, clears the doubt or turns it into an incident, then runs the resolution in SHIELD.

How does SHIELD hand over to PILOT?

The handover is part of the incident evaluation and escalation process. When the situation calls for a crisis response, the team can escalate it to PILOT and continue coordinating in the crisis space.

What is Téa, the sovereign intelligence built into ORBIT?

Téa - Technologie d'Éclairage et d'Assistance - is the intelligence built into ORBIT. It helps teams structure information, draw on the organisation's experience, run investigations and prepare proposals, without ever standing in for human decision-making.

Téa is operated in France, in a controlled environment dedicated to ORBIT. Customer data and queries are not sent to an external public AI, it does not search the open web, and its memory stays strictly partitioned per organisation.

Is ALIVE available yet?

ALIVE is shown as a preview. The vision is settled, but its functional scope is still being built: we do not present it as a finished module.

What do you mean by "entity" in your pricing?

An entity is a legal person: a company, a local authority, an institution. It gets its own isolated workspace, with its own data, users and licences, and it is the billing unit for ORBIT.

The consequence matters inside a group: the right of use you subscribe to applies to that legal entity, and to it alone. Someone from another company in the group falls outside that scope, even if they are working on the same crisis.

Covering several companies therefore means subscribing that many entities. The ORBIT 360 plan adds multi-entity governance and a group view, so you can run them together.

Is the number of users capped?

No, users are unlimited on all three plans: you pay for the entity, not the seat. Accounts remain personal, and sharing one is not permitted - in crisis management, knowing who wrote what and when is part of the value of the tool.

For the moments that mobilise a lot of people, an exercise or a real crisis, access is opened temporarily and selectively. You are not administering accounts all year that will be used once a decade: rights are opened where they are needed, then closed again.

That is least privilege applied to crisis, which is what ISO/IEC 27001-style access governance asks for.

Can I move up to another plan later?

Yes. A plan can be extended mid-contract - moving from Training to Response or to 360, adding entities - through an extension to the subscription, billed pro rata for the remaining term. What you have already entered stays in place: the change opens up functions, it does not restart your configuration.

I am a service provider: can I use ORBIT to support my own clients?

Yes. ORBIT can be used by consultancies, specialist providers or crisis management practitioners who want to rely on the platform for their own engagements, in particular to set up and run exercises for several clients.

The public prices shown on this site correspond to direct use by an organisation for its own teams. Multi-client or multi-entity use, or use involving a high volume of exercises, falls under a different model.

We therefore offer providers a dedicated commercial and pricing framework, matched to the number of clients supported, the uses involved and the volume of activity.

Where is the data hosted, and how is it protected?

Data is hosted in France, with Scaleway, a French operator. It is encrypted at rest and in transit, segregated by entity, and access goes through a single identity with passkey authentication and role-based rights. The detail of the processing and the sub-processors is set out in our data processing agreement.

Where does Secalys fit into the solution?

ORBIT is published by Secalys, which supports organisations on systemic crisis management. Secalys field experience feeds directly into the design of the platform.
